PDA's in Home Health

Specialties Home Health

Hi guys. I'm looking into getting a palm tx pda to download all those drug books, merck manual, all those medical software at skyscape and also to help me in managing my case load as I will be returning to home health next month after a 17 month lapse into inpt hospice nursing. Calendar, contact list and alerts will definitely be of daily use. Anyone out there who's got one? Any tips? Pros and Cons? I'm tech savvy tho not hacker level and comfortable with gadgets. Anyway, appreciate any thoughts on this.

Thanks.

got the pda from staples. had them match their online price and used a $40 off coupon plus sales tax = $270.

downloaded the RN constellation from skyscape= $89

(bundle of > RN Notes- clinical pocket guide

> Davis Drug Guide

> Nurse Manual of Lab and Diagnostics

> Archimedes 360

> ICD 9 Code

downloaded the Taber's = $49 - 10 discount= $39

no shipping and due to instand download to pda and desktop

total download = $130

easy info handy in my pocket, no books in my car trunk, organized calendar for home and work = PRICELESS

which pda did you choose?

the Palm TX is great .. I have my own, and I love it. I have epocrates and Thompson med. software on it as well as monopoly and scrabble...LOL. But check out palmgear.com, and search for freeware..they have lots of stuff for free.

I got the palm TX. Based it on the reviews from this forum (it's how I found this site) and it was also editor's pick at cnet. Seems like most of the med, nsg and pharm students in my area use it too.

So far, am loving it like the poster above. Thanks for those leads crux1024.
