We have two nurses in particular that always seem to have an illness or a family emergency whenever it's their turn to take primary call. This leave the nurse on secondary taking first and seconary call. Does this happen to anyone else? It's soooooo frustrating to me! :uhoh21:

It happens all the time with one nurse in particular. It infuriates me.:angryfire She also usually just goes ahead and calls in on Friday so her Friday patients get pushed to the weekend.
What a gem of a nurse, eh? I wonder is this particular to TN? I'm in TN also. Naw, I bet it's pretty universal. I wonder how people like this keep their jobs? Do you think HH is that hard up for HH RN's?

Reminds me of the individual who religiously called in sick every Friday shift. Everyone would remark about her habits, and questioned why anybody would even bother scheduling her on Friday. You know, the Club Med kind of employee; they always get what they want. If this practice really is causing a major lifestyle problem for you because you have to pick up their slack; then you need to look at the advisability of always being so cooperative. Everybody has a limit that gets breached on occasion.

You're correct and I'm not always cooperative. I try to be when I can toward admin but toward those nurses who don't reciprocate, forget it honey. I agreed to do second call today only and that's it.
