Any Amedisys Nurses Here?

My company was acquired by Amedisys a few months ago. Most of the changes so far seem positive, but I've only been in HH for 19 months with one company, so in the big scheme of things I don't have much to compare to.

I Have loved HH so far. Don't get me wrong. There is hardly a night that I don't bring work home with me, but after being a Dialysis nurse for 5 years and seriously considering becoming a Wal-Mart greeter, I'll take the paperwork anyday.

I unknowingly chose the right company to begin Home Health. My supervisors have both been in Home Health for decades. They are a wealth of info and have no problem sharing it with the new HH nurses. I don't see how a nurse could possibly do their job without YEARS of HH experience. I continuosly learn new rules and regs on a daily basis and for the first 6 months it absolutely boggled my mind the amount of info I needed to learn to correctly do my job. Still does, just not quite as much. Thanks to all you die-hards who have stuck with it and are truly valuable resources to nurses such as myself. I have certainly picked up great advice just going back and reading posts.

I recently accepted a job with Amedisys. Actually tomorrow is my first day with them!

From the little I have been able to gather they seem like a good company, but we shall see.

If anyone else has any info on them I would love to hear from you. :)

The hospice my mom works for was recently acquired by Amedisys and she is pretty thrilled with the changes they have made thus far. She says they run the place as she would if she owned it, which I consider a high compliment.

FORMERLY HOUSECALL HOMEHEALTH, BEEN THERE ALMOST 5 YEARS, HOUSECALL HAS BEEN BOUGHT SEVERAL TIMES IN THE LAST FEW YEARS, HOPE THIS IS THE LAST, CHANGES SO FAR LOOK GOOD TO ME, ESPECIALLY WITH THE MENTION OF LAP TOPS AFTER THE FIRST OF THE YEAR!! much!!!

We have an Amedisys office in Greenville also. my husband's aunt is the clinical sup. there, they desperately need help!! I am afraid the office may close soon, not because they don't have patient's, just no qualified/competent nurses!! Know any one in Greenville that could use a good job? She is considering going back out on the road and letting someone else with more experience take the clinical sup. job, need to pray for her she is stuggling right now with the big decision. Keep me updated with the changes in everyone else's Amedisys offices, I'll be glad to help or answer questions for anyone. Talk to ya soon:rolleyes:
