Passed the Exit RN HESI with 934

Hello all,

As the subject indicates I did pass. 160 questions. 2 and half hours. I did well I suppose. I didn't prepare as much as some of my classmates, who were not as fortunate. I only did maybe 50q/day for about 3-4 weeks.

I'm told the the HESI is harder than the NCLEX. If anyone can give me any feedback on that.

If I passed with above a 900, how good are the chances I will pass the NCLEX?

Well I been doing questions a lot on the Saunders application. Mostly med surge questions. I also been using this app called nclex mastery. I got it off the App Store and it was pretty helpful. The day before the exam I went over a study guide I found off this site. It might have been helpful but there wasn't all that much content.

Congratulations Amagnowski!!! I unfortunately didn't pass the first time. I will taking again in the end of april before graduation. Im really freaking out. Any tips to help me study?! I know the test was really test taking strategies.. but :(

I'm no expert at giving out advice so I'm not sure whether or not I can take you in the right direction. I've been told that the remediation is long and tedious, but it does really help. I've heard it from my teachers and students alike so it's probably true. I'd also recommend not spending too long answering the questions. I was the third person out of the exam and the first person out that was out had passed. Not sure if that's because we do well but it's just an observation.

When I took the test I wasn't freaking out. I went in thinking I was going to fail and surprised myself. I got a full 8 hours. I ate breakfast. Bacon and eggs. I didn't have my mind on the test that much to be honest.

To give you any tips on how to take questions would be silly because you probably already know the ins and outs. Just do your best and don't stress it too much. You're your own worst enemy. You got this.

Hello there I am curious if you don't pass the Hesi is there a fews to retake it? Is there a fee the first time?

HELLLOOOO ALLL!!!! Well on yesterday my class took our first attempt for the hesi exit exam! I PASSED!!!! with a 936!!! my school requires a 900. after 4hrs i was the second to last person out! I always read these threads and would never post until now. This is what i did I joined yourbestgrade.com and no these questions weren't on our exit exam but they were much harder than our exam where i kept making https://allnurses.com/nclex-discussion-forum/passed-my-nclex-750555.html i read it back and forth like the bible things on the study guide that i didnt know i stopped at that point and looked them up! the day before i spent 9 hrs at the public library doing nclex questions and reading this study guide. the night before i went home watched scandal and went to bed. the morning of woke up early so not to feel rushed, showered (even if you are a night before shower person take one in the morning so it fully wakes up your body and mind) EAT BREAKFAST! once at the school stayed in my car alone not to cloud my mind with chatter from my classmates. during the test dont rush but also dont take so long you talk yourself out of the right answer. IF YOU KNOW THE INFO WITHOUT A DOUBT AND WITHOUT HESITATION THEN STICK WITH THE ANSWER. hope this helps someone out there!! anyone with tips on studying for boards please let me know.

I'm doing Saunders questions and I'm fearing they may be TOO basic. I keep getting anywhere from 88 to 100% on 25 question tests I make.

Has anyone tried Kaplan Trainer? I tried and the questions are SUPER hard. Like SO tricky.

I hope the HESI questions aren't that hard, I seriously never recall a HESI being THAT tricky and difficult.

I have 2 days of study left before my Exit HESI.

My instructor said Saunders is too easy. I bought a Lipencott with alternate format questions. It's challenging. I take my exit HESI 5/1. :scrying:

Just wanted to update:

I passed with a 1000+ !!!!

Honestly, it boils down to test taking strategies. Read chapter 5 of the Saunders book. Also read the sticky on here over HESI strategies. Saunders questions helped give me a solid knowledge base but that's it. The questions aren't challenging whatsoever.

I believe HESI has adaptive quizzing.

Congrats!!! I too, will have to face the Hesi next year. We have Hesi's after every class in school as our finals. I think it's good preparation!:-)

Same here. It's brutal but hey I'm a couple weeks from graduating. I wish you luck on your future nursing and just remember to do A LOT of questions.
