Oncology and Immunology Pharmacology

Nursing Students HESI

Published

I am set to take HESI --- VERY soon! I am honestly very stressed. This exam can determine if I graduate or not.

Upon answering Saunders Questions, I am noting that I am deficient in oncology and immunology medications. I am honestly anxed at all the the side and adverse effects. (which is mainly all it focuses on) All other pharmacology (cardiac, GI, resp, neuro) not only am I comofortable with --- but I love it!!!

I cannot wrap my mind around memorizing these adverse effects and expected effects. With a cardiac drug for example, I am able to critically think about what receptors it works on and so on ... and so because of that it is easy for me to "understand" and recall. With these medications, no sir ... I am just lost.

Is there a certain way to understand all these onc/immune meds? By catagory? Is there a top list of commonly asked oncology meds? or a top list of commonly asked antiinfectives for immunology?

Is the HESI big on these drugs? What about NCLEX?

Thank You! I would appreciate some tips.
