Hesi Medical Surgical Nursing exam

Hey guys I NEED YOUR HELP!! So I have a hesi exam coming for medical surgical nursing only. So my school has 3 unit exams and 1 HESI exam for that particular class.

So I am taking medical surgical nursing and I have this HESI exam coming up soon. I need a 76 percent to pass the class. A little background on my tests. I failed the first two. I got a 70 on the first exam and a 72.5 on the second. Luckily on the third I got a B. But in order for me to pass this class I need a 76. I am so nervous and so anxious about this exam. I have to take it four days and I feel like it is so far fetched. But I am trying to stay positive but at the same time I cant help but freak out

I just wanted to know if anyone has had the med surg HESI exam, and what you guys thought of it. What type of resources have you used? Any last minute study tips I can utilize?

I have the HESI RN book and also the nclex examination book from saunders. But I am not sure which to read because the HESI RN is so vague and the neclex is quite detailed lol

The HESI Comprehensive review for the NCLEX-RN Examination is what I used. We also have an individual HESI for each class, so I feel your pain there.

The only other advice I have is to go with your gut instinct on answers. Once you choose one, don't change it. I always change an answer every time, and at the end realize if I hadn't, I would've gotten it right.

I had to take the HESI Med Surg (and about 10 other HESI I exams, including a comprehensive). What I learned is DO PRACTICE QUESTIONS!. We were given the online HESI Program to do practice online. I also used Saunders. For me it was about 50% knowing the content and 50% knowing how to breakdown a question and weed out right and wrong answers based on "clues" in the question. You know....first eliminate those answers you KNOW are wrong...then eliminate "alike" answers...re-read and re-read the question and pick out the keywords etc. I think practice is the only way to get it. Keep in mind the NCLEX works the same way. There is NO WAY to possibly know the answers to everything, so you have to learn HOW TO ANSWER A TEST QUESTION!!!!

Read the book and focus on the HESI hints, they are there for a reason. Also use the code that should have come with the book and do the sample questions, some are VERY similar to the ones on the HESI!

pretty much in the same boat as well and this is my last semester of nursing school. i've looked over pretty much all of the entire HESI NCLEX review book med surg section and have done half of the 100 questions. but it's so hard not to freak out especially since i'm so close to being done :'( does anyone else have any tips? i feel as if the saunders is too easy.
