Vocabulary - how difficult are the words

  1. 0
While studying vocabulary words for the exam it appears the various sites use the same words to help one study. I realize there is no way to study ALL the words in the dictionary, but were the words tested somewhat familiar?

This is my second career, so I've been to college, worked professionally, and years later returned to school. I'm currently and LPN and will be applying for a LPN to RN bridge program. I'm trying to determine if my general background is what makes me feel comfortable with the vocabulary section (based on the practice exams) or if the practice exams are not a good representation of the degree of difficulty the vocabulary section is.

If you've taken the HESI A2, what was your feeling towards the vocabulary words you were tested on? (I realize the words would have been completely different than those on practice exams, just the comparison of degree of difficulty)

I thought the vocabulary was easy-much easier than on the TEAS....if you know what the roots, prefixes mean you can usually guess what the word is.

    Good luck

    Thank you!

I had been debating on how much to study the plethora of roots, suffixes and prefixes from my study guide, but it sounds like it won't do any harm!

I just took the hesi a2 yesterday. I just studied the evolve study guide and scored a 94% on that section. There were maybe 6-8 words from the study guide on there and it wasn't hard to figure out the definitions for the other words. Most are used in a sentence and then you're supposed to determine the meaning of the word based on how it's used in the sentence.
