HESI A2: My Experience

Nursing Students HESI

Published

I'm not going to lie, it was VERY nerve wrecking to take this exam. I was a little nervous about it being on the computer, as I tend to click where I'm not supposed to and mess everything up just out of nervousness, but they pretty much have it set up that you can't make any mistakes like that. As for the math portions; know your metric conversions. I had a hard time with these for some reason, and went about searching for help on how to understand it easier. I found this site: http://www.purplemath.com/modules/metric.htm and it was SOOOOO much more clear. This site and a bit of memorization and I was fine with the conversions. It had a LOT of ratios and proportions, and fraction problems, a sprinkling of percentages and your basic basic math; adding, subtracting, multiplying and dividing. I'm not sure if it was just my test that was like this or if they mix up the content for each student. I was particularly worried about the Grammar section, which it was then that I found that worrying was a BIG waste of time and was super easy. Just figuring which were the correct sentences, word usage and such. Vocab and reading were the same, relatively easy. Biology, memorization is key. A&P; know your glands!!! I wasn't required to take the rest of the subjects for my program. I used the Evolve HESI A2 Study Guide and made an 86.5% overall. I hope this helps!! :)

Hello, I am taking the exam in a week and I had a few questions. I tend to ALWAYS over study information and I'm afraid that I'm doing this with the A&P section. I took A&P 1 and 2 in the spring of 2011 and last fall so it is not fresh in my mind. I know that you aren't allowed to tell us exact questions but do they ask many questions about muscles/bones? Also, do we need to know blood flow throughout the body?

Thank you!

i remeber i studied from hesi a2 exam but in the end i thought most stuff is from classes very basic,,

good luck with you exam
