HESI A2 Entrance Exam question

Nursing Students HESI

Hi all,

My school is changing is requirements and even though I've been on the waiting list for 9 months, I now have to take the HESI A2. I just have to take the reading and math portions. I have a BA already in English and French. I had a 3.89 with my first degree. I have a 4.0 for all the classes I've taken so far for my nursing degree. I have to get an 80 to pass. If I don't, I lose my spot in the program. With my academic background, should I be as nervous as I am?

You have a great academic background. Trust me you have nothing to worry about. I took only the reading and math portions 3 days ago. I was a nervous wreck. I can tell you it's very basic stuff. As long as you study you should be ok. The reading is pretty much common sense; I made a 94%. Coming from someone who passed college algebra with a C, I made a 96% on the math portion. Make sure you study up on the math, other than that you're fine. Good luck!

Don't be nervous. I think you will be alright. I took it early this year and I was just as nervous. When I saw the questions, I almost laughed. I didn't do as good (96.X) as I should have. I used the usual book (the Elsevier one) to brush up, quizlet(site) and another site I found by chance derickbillingandcoding(site) for the medical terminology.

From your background, I don't think you have much to worry about. Just look over some medical terms and basic math.

It sucks when requirements change. I was in a similar situation. I agree with the poster above. You will do just fine. I took it without studying and scored in the mid to high 90's in both sections. I have a B.S. in Biology and am an LPN. If you are concerned, look up HESI A2 entrance exam on Google. There are plenty of references for the types of material on the exam. Good luck to you.
