Re: don't know if this fits in here
Hi Belindalou,
As a new nurse you may run into new situations which can trigger anxiety
and perhaps panic feelings. The truth is, this can happen throughout
your career at times as you met new circumstances. Often, you can
deal with the experience and move on. If you find the feelings are affecting
your job, then I support the suggestion above to talk with your PCP.
Your doctor may suggest some short term counseling to address the
issues of your Mom. It can help you personally and professionally to
review these feelings now and not let it continue to grow out of control.
Your employer need not have to know about the fact that you have
chosen counseling if you choose to do so.
Having a plan when you feel you are stressed, will help you manage
the events more successfully.
Very sorry about your Mom, know that in her memory you will soon find
strength . Your nursing practice will include comforting both the patient
and family in difficult and challenging circumstances.
Hugs to you, all the best..
