VA Hiring Process

From the previous posts I've read the VA hiring process is pretty long and drawn out. I've applied to two different VA sites. The VA an hour away from my home I can always get in contact with a nurse recruiter and my application status for two posting says "referred to selecting official." The VA closest to my home, I can't get through to the recruiter, she emailed me back once and the status of all the apps just says "application received." I do know a nurse practitioner that works at this VA site and she tried to give my resume to the recruiter, but I had to apply online.

For those of you that are familiar with the hiring process, any idea what the next step is. In all there are around 20 RN vacancies. The two systems have two completely different online application submissions, how will I know if I've completed the application process correctly, its a little confusing :(

I've been applying since I've graduated and earlier this year I found out that I was applying the wrong way so those positions don't count. These positions closed in September.

Thanks in advance ?

I am at it again with the VA. This time it is through a temp agency. I pray the second time is the charm and they take me.

Good luck

Thank you. Hoping this temp agency is legit. My research showed they can be iffy, but they have been great so far to me. I will let you know if it works.

What hospital are you looking to take assignment at?

SO if one is rejected for a position at the VA does one get a rejection letter? Does ANYONE know?

I am going on 3 weeks since interview. The person who interviewed me says that she does not have any information for me.

This person says I will hear from HR. Does anyone know?

It's been a few months, so I assume you got your answer, so this is for others who may be reading this post: When any position you apply for is filled (and this includes all that you apply for, not just oines you interview for), you get an email saying "another candidate was chosen" blah blah. You get another email at around the same time saying that "the position has been filled." So yes, you definitely are made aware.

Good luck to all.

Where are you in process?

Where are you in process?

I finished e-qip and vetpro and was told it could take anywhere from a month to three months. Basically all I can do is wait until they clear and I get a firm offer, IF I even get one. AHHH so I'm still planning to interview/apply just in case this doesn't work out. So nervous, so much anxiety!

I seriously despise their hiring process haha. If it wasn't federal I'd be working by now haha. I completed e-qip about 2 weeks ago. I can't wait another month or two! I'm dying to know. So much anxiety.

I plan to work in the Bay Area. What about you? I'm so tired of applying and interviewing. Really hope this works out for me!

Oh wow! So you have to do the lab work in another state? I hope we both hear good news sooner than later. I don't want stress ulcers from worrying so much!
