I was wondering, when you received your orders, did you get your first choice of base locations? Thanks

Specializes in L&D, mother/baby, antepartum.

No, I got my third choice.

Specializes in Med/Onc, Med/Surg, Stepdown, ICU.

I'm still waiting on my orders, but I got my first choice. Of course, my first choice was Keesler in Biloxi, MS (for family reasons)...I don't think a ton of people would care to go to Mississippi over other places. I'm excited though!! :D

Funny. My husband's first choice is keesler too. We live in Gulfport. He is still waiting to find out about his commission status. But then I guess we'll have to wait again for the orders. Thanks everyone for the replies. I am also wondering how much time is allowed between COT and your first base, to find housing if you do have to relocate?

Specializes in psych/medical-surgical.

Langley, VA

I grew up here and really had no desire to come back but I wanted to work somewhere with a busy L&D. Careful what you wish for cause I certainly got busy!

Best of luck to you all!

I just graduated yesterday. It seems the norm is ten days permissive TDY for househunting ONCE you check in at your base. It's approved by your gaining commander.
