Is it true that the Navy requires 30 years of service before you can retire? Just curious...

Insofar as I know, barring a serious medical issue, the military is 20 years or age 62, whichever is sooner. I got out in 2000, though, so please check!

I recently got out & it is still 20. Pretty sweet deal if you want to retire early!

Its is still officially 20 years. Occasionally, the Navy will offer people to retire at 15, but that is only when they are trying to clear out overfilled positions. I don't forsee them offering early outs and time soon, we need all we can keep.
