Is there any program besides ROTC that provides tuition assistance/grant/scholarship to civilian nursing students who want to become nurses in the Air Force once they graduate.

The Navy and The Army has has the Nursing Candidate Program that provides nursing school tuition assistance to students who are getting their BSN while still civilians.

Does the US Air Force provide tuition assistance similar to the Navy and Air Force.

When I joined they offered a $30,000 loan repayment; I do not believe they are still doing this. They do not do tuition assistance, that is only for active duty members and you owe them time. Additionally, if you do take a loan repayment if offered, it adds time to your commitment.

I would call a "Healthcare/ Medical" recruiter and ask. I called different branches to compare for NPs. You can also contact branches for guard or reserves for each branch too to compare.

ROTC is the best option. Loan repayment for the Air Force is retroactive (meaning you get the degree before joining the AF and then they pay off the debt later) and carries a tax liability. I assume it's the same for all branches.

Based on talking to the new direct commission nurses I work with, the Air Force still offers a $40,000 (really $27,000 after tax liability) loan repayment for a 3 year commitment.
