Flight nursing in the air force reserves

so i was looking into commissioning into the air force but the time line of going to COT and everything wasn't looking like it would work out. so now i'm considering the air force reserves and the recruiter i spoke to today said i could train and go in as a flight nurse, which sounds amazing! does anyone know what is entailed in survival school and flight training, etc? i know it would be intense, but i was just looking for some details. also, i will be starting a residency program at a local hospital in july or august after i pass boards. would the commitment to the reserves work with the schedule i'd have in the hospital? (it's six months of training and classes so i can't imagine i could get ten weeks off in the middle of it to go to training)

basically i'm just trying to feel out the situation and see if becoming a flight nurse would be as awesome and doable as it sounds. :D

You can apply for military leave, which your facility has to grant. How it will affect your residency program you would need to speak with HR, staff ed, or your unit manager.
