Just puting myself out there for anyone who may have questions about the Army process. I just swore in this afternoon:D, after my packet was picked up last week for the April boards. Please feel free to PM or reply, I would be happy to answer any questions I can.

Congrats! Way to get a good start on your nursing career or continuing it, if you were a civilian nurse!

Btw, did you qualify for loan repayment AND the sign-on bonus? Not to get personal, but how much did you get? I'm investigating the process between the Army and Navy and USPHS so I'll like to know how it went for you. How long did the process take from start to finish? What opportunities did the Health Recruiter mention for further advanced degrees on active duty? Thanks in advance for the information.

I did qualify for the loan repayment and bonus. I got the $10,000 bonus along with the loan repayment for 6 years. I am going to graduate with my BSN next April. So I will be starting my nursing career in the Army. I am however prior service. I spent 5 years on active duty and the rest in the National Guard.

The process wasn't all that long for me. I got my packet together and got it to my recruiter in January. My packet went to the board last week. If you are going direct accession into the Army. You have to be one year out from graduation before you can commission.

I was told there are many opportunities to advance, but that everyone has to compete for graduate slots. From my prior experience the Army if you want to advance yourself, the army isn't going to hold you back.

Also I will be picking my duty station either this week or next. I am hoping to get BAMC. We'll see.
