Best Naval Hospitals for a new RN

I will be starting the application process for ODS once I graduate so I can become a Navy nurse officer. I was wondering if anyone could suggest the best naval hospitals to put on my top 3. Not only based on the quality of the hospital but also the surrounding area.

Any suggestions are greatly appreciated, thanks!

Not a nurse, but I was active duty for 10 years. From a patient perspective, Bethesda is a great hospital and is in the heart (more or less) of DC.

There really isn't a "best" naval hospital, but the big three hospitals that the Navy wants you to grow and learn as a nurse is San Diego, Bethesda, and Portsmouths. The surrounding areas are the things that probably influence your decision. I got San Diego and can't wait to graduate this May.

I am from San Diego, so biased to the area. But San Diego has a great nursing internship program. Just think of it as a few more months of clinical orientations before getting started. It will help you get used to Navy culture and Navy Medicine. You definitely want to make sure they send you to one of the "Big 3".
