Hi

Currently deployed Afghanistan, last deployed 2 years prior to Iraq

Now ANC is deployed from 6-7 months (not including my pre-deployment training)

Current duty station Fort Bliss, been there ~ 4 years, due to PCS.

Deployment? Everyday is ground hog day, everyday is different. I have seen too much blood, too many deaths.

First deployment 15 months with the Army Reserves and last one 6 months with Regular Army. From what the Nurse Corp Branch has stated in Captains Career Course all Nurse deployments will be the length that unit is deployed if you are a PROFIS fill. For those who do not know PROFIS is the Armys way of filling slots in deploying units by pulling nurses from hospitals, clinics etc. Most deployments are now 9 months in length. As Athena has stated it is like groundhog day but everyday being different somehow.

Hello Army nurses,

Questions about deployments length. I am 110% I wanna serve but I'm debating with which branch of our military to chose. What's that I hear that I could be deployed from 6mo to 15mo the length of the entire squadron deployment?

And also I'm interested in Active Duty now and maybe later join Reserves. But do Reserves get deployed on the lengthier side of AD?

right now most deployments for active duty is 9 months and reserves is 12 months. Most reserves are on a 5 year cycle for deployments and active duty can deploy after being home for 1 year. As always subject to change based on the needs of the Army.

Thank you for detailing this.
