Hey just wondering if anyone is applying for the next board?? And also when the next board is meeting?? Can't get a clear answer from my recruiter. I am applying for an OR slot. I have been a nurse for almost 12 years but only have about a year and a half OR experience. Just really nervous and this waiting is killing me!! Lol

I'm applying for the January board. My recruiter said applications have to be in to his boss by January 23 for submission to the board on January 31 or Feb 1. He said it would take 4-6 weeks to hear back, and that I would most likely head to OCS at the end of May although there is a small possibility I could be asked to go at the end of March if a slot opens up (assuming I get in of course). I've just started talking with a recruiter about the Air Force, ED specialty. He had me send my resume and last I heard was he said he would be back with me next week. That was on 12/15 and I still haven't heard anything. I've tried contacting him multiple times. Should I just wait? Try and talk with a different recruiter?

You have to keep on them constantly. You can try and call the main office and ask to speak with one of the supervisors but that is pretty typical for them to do that. Just be persistent and keep on them. Email, call, text all the above!! Unfortunately that's how it is. What state are you in???

I am considering 2018 or 2019 for OR specialty. I will have my CORN next year, and with over a year in CV and OH specialty. I also have a degree in finance and 15 years of experience managing a small business, which I hope will play into acceptance.

My residence is in IL but I'm a travel nurse so I'm currently in LA. The recruiter they gave me is in Ohio. I asked if I should maybe try speaking with someone in LA and they said just stick with the Ohio recruiter. Still trying to contact him and haven't heard anything yet! Anyone think I should try seeing a recruiter in LA so I can speak with them in person??

I would try being more persistent first. The application process is going to take at least 6-9 months. Are you still going to be in LA then? You're eventually going to have complete a lot of paperwork, some of which needs, or is much easier to do, in person.

I'll be in LA until June. Then I'll be back in the Midwest for the summer before heading to Florida for next winter. I can of course change any of these plans, and I am more than willing too for the right opportunities. But I have to get this recruiter to answer me first.
