AFIT for ACNP

Specialties Government

HI,

I wanted to reach out to see if anyone has obtained their ACNP via AFIT. My husband is doing his research on the program at work and I remembered this website from before he went to COT, so, I thought i'd ask everyone here. He has been AD in the AF for over 7 years, working in the ICU.

I guess our main question is, does the Air Force send you to their school, or do you apply to a public University?

Thank you. I would appreciate any information you may have on how this process works.

I'm actually interested in this question too. However, couldn't he just ask his chief nurse?

He has told him his interest. What we don't know is this a program offered at USUSH or will he attend a public university.

The chief nurse definitely knows whether it's a program that the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USUHS) offers or not. If they offer it, then you have to take it from them. If they don't, then you get to go to a University of your choice.

Also, the ACNP is a fairly new thing. There are so few people that have done it, I think it's highly unlikely one of them is going to be on this forum. Even if you find someone that has done it, those programs change all the time. Your best bet is really just to have him ask his chief nurse.
