I am interested in starting a personal care home in Georgia and i don't know where to begin. Also, where is the best place to find out about the reimbursement in this setting.

In the metro area where I live, most of the personal care homes are inhabited by younger adults with chronic illnesses such as multiple sclerosis, end stage renal disease on dialysis, and various spinal cord injuries. A few MHMR/IDD adults are often thrown into the mix, as well as one or two people with chronic mental illness.

Most of these younger adults are indigent, so the payer source is Medicaid. Many also receive social security disability checks, which is where the real profit is drummed up in these group homes.
