Hey Sue,
Sounds like a great gig. At nights there are no mgmt people around to issue new projects, no dietician sitting at your nurses station taking up space. You can just do your thing. You should try to schedule some of the wound care on night shift so you can do some tx. BTW, I wear white too. The easier to bleach, my dear. I do Baylor weekends plus 2 day shifts (6a-6p wknds, 6a-2p tue and wed.) By the end of a long shift I have all sorts of bodily fluids on me. LOL
Good luck and no callouts for your staff!!!

Maureen

Congrats on your new job. But, PLEASE don't schedule treatments at night just so you can do them. People need to sleep.

Maureen, I always did wear white, too. My residents loved it - instant recognition, no matter how far into dementia they were.

Hey, SueSQ,

I've been away and something pulled me back here, and I find you'd been laid off and now working LTC. Well, so am I. I am mostly happy and while the place has its issues like any job, I like the residents and love my shift (10p to 6a). We offer skilled and LTC. 75 beds.

I usually wear a white jacket and white pants, colored scrub top. I like the bleachability of white.

Best of luck with the new job and stay in touch,
RN007
