We have under 100 apts. many do have Services that we give meds to. I did take a pay cut from a home health job but now have more of a life. No hours of homework no working every weekend.

lol. I have no life anymore! I'm wondering how long I can keep up my pace where I am at as I am 52 yo and was on disability for 2 years prior to getting this job.

Specializes in hospital/physicians office/long term car.

I work in a ALF with 24 hour nursing. We have a LPN that works 7a to 12n and one that works 7a to 7p. Then we have a LPN that works 7p to 10p and one for 7p to 7a. We have a CNA 7a to 2p and one 7a to 3p. The 3p to 11p and one 4p to 9p. Then we have just 1 CNA 11p to 7a with the LPN. We have DON but no ADON.

I see this thread is a few weeks old, but I'll reply anyway... I'm the RN in charge of a 100 bed ALF, including 18 bed locked special care unit for residents with dementia. We have med aides passing all meds and doing majority of hands on care, with LPN supervisors for each shift.

Supervisors also have ancillary duties of responding to emergency calls from independent residents (part of a CCRC). LPN Supervisors manage teams of 8-12 med aides, and they do stay very busy. Acuity in our ALF is rising again, so it seems there is more and more need for licensed nursing staff.
