I graduated from UWG in May of 2008. The University of West georgia is AWESOME! They just became The School Nursing, which is wonderful.

ALL Nursing Programs are competitive!!! Good luck! I am VERY thankful that I choose The University of West Georgia!! No regrets.

I got into West Georgia and will be starting my first classes Tuesday. I got in with a 3.3 gpa and a TEAS of 80. All of my friends got in as well and we all had around the same scores on the TEAS and GPA. Good Luck! West Georgia is awesome!!

Hi everyone! I am interested in applying to West Georgia for the BSN program next summer. I had a question about gpa as a transfer. When you transfer in grades do they count every attempt, the highest grade, or the last attempt. I attempted to get some information from the website, but it doesn't really go into specifics. I know that you need a 2.75 West GA gpa, but what does that entail? Anyone who can help me clear up some information would be greatly appreciated.

Your grades should transfer and the consider your highest grades out of all attempts. You need atleast a 2.75 gpa but the higher the better your chances. I got in with a 3.4 and I know a lot of people who got in with gpa's at 3.0 and a few around 2.8 or so. But you also need to score atleast the mean average on TEAS test for whatever the set mean is for when you take it and also make atleast B's in your sciences and maths and English. The more A's the better.I didn't make any C's.Madde more A's than B's.Although i know some people who got in with C's. UWG has two programs Carrollton and Newnan, and they accepted 120 students this past summer. I was one of them.

So just to be clear, if you retake a class and earn a higher grade they will drop the lower grade when you transfer in? Thank you.

The Nursing School CONSIDERs your highest grade. Nothing gets dropped.

Gotcha

I go to GCSU and recently go declined acceptance into their Nursing Program. I have about an overall 3.09. I talked to someone in the Nursing Department at UWG and she said that they only considered your GPA of Science, Math, and English classes. I also have a TEAS score of 81 for Version 4 but plan to take Version 5. Can I get some advice on what my odds of getting in at UWG may be?
