I started this thread so that we could help each other out and to get ready for nursing school.

The only think I have bought are the books. I probably need to order the Uniform soon. Is anyone buying there stethoscope from the same place as the uniforms? I am thinking about buying off the web, so I can get a different color other than black or purple. Also, What type are you thinking about buying? I was thinking about the Littmann Classic II S.E.

I've heard great things about the Littmann steth..... also was told to get it engraved with name and phone number or email addy.... because they have a way of disappearing.....and have abetter chance of being "found" if your info is on it.....

I haven't ordered the uniform yet either - was waiting until the last possible moment to shell out more $$$

I just completed my CPR Training, it was just under 2 hours and the instructor was great. She is actually a former GPC Nursing student and is located in Buford. If anyone wants her number, let me know!

Also, I bought all my supplies from a separate company other than the uniforms. I decided to go with the Littmann Classic II S.E. and it is very nice.

Specializes in Emergency.

Maybe this is a dumb question, but what exactly are we supposed to buy from the uniform place? I know our papers said that we were going to spend approx. $200 on uniforms, but it seems like of the things listed, if we are supposed to buy more than just the uniforms, it would be more than $200. Also, does anyone know if we have to buy the skirt and pants or can we buy whichever one we prefer?

I would like her number, I am still looking for somewhere to take the CPR class and Buford is much closer for me than the others I have found.

Her website is www.heartrescuers.com and you can find a schedule of her BLS classes and you can register from there. If you have any questions let me know

Thank you so much, I don't know why I could not find this company when I looked earlier. I really appreciate the information.

According to the sheet, GPC suggest two uniforms, does that also imply two lab coats?

I wouldn't think so. I only ordered 1 lab coat.

Just wanted to let ya'll know that the GPC Nursing Student Association also sells uniforms at Orientation (for cheap). They are from the graduated class. Plus you will actually be able to go home with it that day!
