Savannah Tech-lpn program

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hey everyone,

I'll be starting this quarter (two weeks, can't wait!!:yeah:) to get my pre-reqs done for the lpn program. Unfortunately I won't even get in until NEXT fall:crying2:. But in the meantime I'll get the prereqs done and hopefully be able to get my CNA and PCT.

Has anyone gone through this program or in the program or planning to go through the program? I'm not sure if there's a waiting list so much as a finish your pre-req kind of thing. What are some of the things I should watch out for?

*I searched through all of the posts and I haven't seen anyone from Savannah post that I could see.

Any info would be great!!

Cool, I can't wait to hear what she tells you. I have already taken the Med term and Intro to Healthcare. I took them to get a good base before taking the college level anatomy. Next quarter I am taking English, STC100, PSY, and Diet & Nutrition. then I will have done all of my pre-reqs for LPN. I was told that my A&PI &II and College Algebra can be used. I'm only re-taking English and Psych to up my GPA. Right now I have a 3.69. Summer 2010 an instructor told me the spring lpn's in selection the lowest was a 3.83 and almost half had flunked out on the Drug Calc class. So with that information I decided to take Walker and make sure that I had a good math foundation. I think that if you have a high B average (3.8) there is a very good chance of making it in.

I didn't think I was going to get in the LPN program, maybe the lowered the standard but my gpa was a 3.3 and I got into the fall program. I'm really nervous about drug cal, I've taken college algebra twice but I failed it both times so I know for a fact I'm terrible at math. At orientation they were talking about how you must make a 90% or higher on the drug cal tests. I'm going to need a lot of tutoring for sure.
