Piedmont College applicants 2014

U.S.A. Georgia

Hello! I would like to start a new topic for the applicants to the nursing school in Piedmont College, 2014. I want to share ideas, progress, etc. in our path to the nursing career. Have fun :)

Hi there! I am also an applicant to this program Fall 2014... I've been thinking alot about the chances of being wait listed lately. I get so anxious about this sort of thing. I feel pretty good because I completed the app process pretty early, but I have to take a Communications class that I have avoided like the plague for years!! Apparently, they will still consider you and you could still get an interview. They just like to see that you are working on tying up the loose ends. What do you think?? Also, which campus are you hoping to attend??

Hi! I applied for the Demorest campus. I will be done with all my pre-req by spring. I also completed the application process already, but I'm worried about my TEAS scores. I got a 76% overall. What about you?

Hey both of you! I replied to another post about Piedmont nursing this summer, but saw this one and thought I should post here too. I am taking the TEAS this Saturday for the 2nd time, of course to try to improve my score. I scored a 75.8 the 1st go round the 1st part of December. My GPA is right at 3.1. I am pretty nervous about that. I have all my pre-req's complete....well, I am finishing them this semester. Span 1002, Musc 1101 and Micro all at UNG. I have my fingers crossed! I am really trying for an 80+ for the TEAS this Saturday. Hopefully in a week or so we will all be getting calls for interviews!

Hopefully!! I am getting pretty anxious awaiting a call for the interview. I am taking Communications this semester. I'm doing it through E-Core though...Tell me mparker are you applying to the Athens campus??

nope. Demorest for me. I live in Gainesville - Athens would be too far. If you don't mind can you tell me your stats? like gpa, teas scores etc. I just really want to know how I compare to any other applicants. I am so stressed about this.

In my case, I have a 4.0 GPA. It looks like that is very important to them. When I met my advisor to register for classes, she told me that since I'm a 4.0 student the chances to be rejected are minimum. I hope that is true!! :nailbiting:

That is AMAZING! No way can I imagine having a 4.0 with some of the horrible professors I have had. In my pre-nursing curriculum my GPA is a bit higher, but overall, it's a 3.1. I also have taken several business classes. There was a time that I was working FT, and I had to take business classes instead of my A&P, and those grades are B's & C's. It has taken me 3 full years to get this far. I was able to quit work in July, and I am in school full-time now.

So, if you have spoken with an advisor, are you at Piedmont now?

Yes, I am taking the last pre-req in Demorest.

I retook the TEAS this morning in Demorest. My overall score was a 78.9. I really wanted an 80 or higher. But, I completely bombed the science. I beat the national average, but my overall score was a 60. I read last year that they only looked at your reading and math scores, so hopefully, those will have more weight this year too. My math was 96.7 (I only missed 1 question!), and my reading was 85.7.

Well, I guess now we just wait......for interview calls!!!

Yes. I hope that is soon!

So what kind of questions do you think we are going to be asked during the interviews?
