If you're moving to GA from NY, you would more then likely find the cost of living very appealing. Most ppl I know from NY consider GA very inexpensive, even in the city...however, I move here from OK and I consider the metro area to be VERY expensive. Pay is not bad here though and if you live outside the city you should be able to find thatg 3/4 bedroom you're looking for...I'm not into the BENZ though, so I'm not sure on that..lol

It depends on where you want to live. Really- GA is VERY diversified when it comes to cost of living. I grew up in North GA, and moved away almost 7 years ago. I visited this past spring and looked into real estate and was shocked. In some areas the prices have skyrocketed- but in others it's still VERY affordable. I believe the Stone Mountain area is still pretty good for housing- big beautiful houses for decent prices. I don't think their pay is very good there- but that's comming from MN- where the pay is great- and cost of living is low.

Just make sure you do your research in MANY areas- and think about how far you're willing to drive. Maybe you could live in an affordable area- and drive to a good job. Commuting down south is common.

Like the previous poster said, it really depends on the area you choose. If you want to live in the city( in a good area), will cost a lot more than suburbs. The northern suburbs tend to be more on the pricier side. I live on the south side (Newnan) and the cost of living is quite reasonable, but it is about a 40 minute drive to atlanta. But it all should be pretty reasonable compared to Westchester, NY. That's near White Plains, right?

thank you all so much for the info...i really appreciate it..and yes white plains is a city of westchester i live about 15 mintues from there...i really love the suburbs here in new york and ga is one of the places that reminds me the most of home...(new york)..well suburbs area at least...im just a bit concerned on the pay...I have also heard that it is very competative to get a job in the atlanta area...is ot really that competative?...i guess it all evens out...thank you...XoXo:typing
