Hopeful Georgia Highlands Fall 2012 RN applicant

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

Hello all! I am in the process of applying to Georgia Highlands Fall 2012 Nursing program. I am wondering if anyone else is in the same boat? I have all A's and B's in all of pre reqs, 2 Bs and an A in the sciences, which makes me nervous. I also didn't do that well on the TEAS. I got an 81, but did extremely well in the science part of it. I had an 1050 on my SAT'S from back in 2002. I did the worksheet total that they have online, and my score was an 1131. I am wondering if this is enough? But the worksheet does not include the TEAS calculation.

Any info or comments would be great! I just want to know where I stand :uhoh3:

Congrats to everyone who got in. You're 4 semesters away from being an RN! Maybe I'll catch up with everyone in the spring as I didn't get in for fall.

Got in, would have loved to go there had NGCSU not collected my $200. Their uniform is sooooo cheap. All below $20!!!

Well someone on wait list gets to take my spot. Returning the favor someone did me..(I got off the wait list at Ngcsu)... Congrats

To you all

Got in as well! Woot Woot!!

Does anyone know if we still got to do regular orientation with the school in addition to our nursing orientation?

I am wondering the same thing. I still haven't done the new student orientation to the college, so I can't access score yet.

You should still be able to access score. Go to the check admissions status to get your student ID if you don't know it. Your password is your birthdate.

Did anyone order their uniforms yet, and if so, how many sets did you order? I'm not sure of how many we need.

Ya I can get on score. But I havent done orientation. I guess I need to call them tomorrow.

I am wondering the same thing! And do we need both kinds of pants? It wasn't really specific in the packet. I'm wondering how many days a week we are in class.

Hey everyone! I went to new student orientation on the 13th, and to be honest, it was totally useless. All I could do was get my student ID card made and then sit around and wait while everyone else bought parking passes and registered for classes (I couldn't because all my prerequisites are done and I am waiting for Nursing orientation). My advice would be to call admissions and ask them if you really have to go. Maybe save some gas- unlike me! Anyway- I'd try to call them and see if they'll drop the orientation hold so you can see everything on SCORE.

As for uniforms- I'm not sure how many we should get, but I think I might wait until orientation to buy mine. I was reading threads for previous semesters and people were saying they recommended waiting until at least orientation before buying them. Some people were saying the school recommended that because there may have been an option for business attire or scrubs during class, and clinicals didn't start until later in the first semester. I guess some students were buying uniforms before orientation and then either gaining or losing weight and having to buy new ones before clinicals started. Just something I read on here and thought I'd share. :)

Does anyone know how classes are scheduled? I know we have clinical hours that we will sign up for, but what about theory times? And how many days a week?

About orientation: I called today and the lady said that we do still have to go to new student orientation also.
