I have an overall GPA of 2.25, my program GPA is a 3.15...i got a D in my human anatomy lecture but re-took it with an A. I have yet to take the teas. However the requirements at GPC are....min. 2.0 overall GPA, 2.7 in program GPA 2.7 in biology. However i was previously studying in business administrations so i have around 5 W'S and have failed only one class. What are my chances of getting accepted? Has anyone gotten accepted with similar scores/ similar circumstances?

So once again, overall GPA: 2.25 (2.3 with this upcoming A)

Program GPA: 3.15 (with only one re-taken course )

Bio GPA:3.5 (I'm also not sure if the previous D in A&P will be included in the calculations...)

requirements:

Overall GPA: min. 2.0

Program GPA 2.7

Bio GPA:2.7

Meeep you feel like I do with regards to being prepared. Oh well, I just thought I'd ask! Thx for the feedback group. Btw, anyone know about Gordon's program??

Don't know specifics but I've heard thru several students in my classes (that are applying there) that its a very good program.

I've heard it's pretty good too. I plan on applying there as a backup, in case I don't get in to a BSN program.

When are u applying? I'm opting for next fall start. I'm applying to CSU and GPC for now.

I am taking A&P I this spring, so I won't make it for fall, grr. I plan on applying to Emory, Mercer, CSU, and Gordon as a last resort.

Meeep, so what do you know about Gordon College?? Clayton State has an Awesome program!! My Teas score is not good enough otherwise I would totally apply.

Nurse2b - I don't know a lot about Gordon being that ADN is my failsafe in case I don't get accepted to a BSN program. What I have gleaned in the small amount of research I have done has all been positive though.

I hear CSU has a good program, I am just not sure about the area it's in. What is their TEAS cutoff? I plan on taking the TEAS this summer.

Emory is my first choice for sure, if I can get in AND get enough aid to cover that hefty price tag. Til then, I'm doing my sciences at GPC. :)

Meeep I attended an info session at CSU you need to score in the high 80's to mid 90's on the Teas for admission. It to be considered for the program. Emory is an awesome school if you can get in that would be a blessing!! :) you've got plenty of time to study for the Teas. Just be sure to knock it out of the park to make yrself competitive!! :) you can do it!!

Oh wow crazy, I swore I heard people getting in to CSU with a TEAS in the 70s. I plan to start studying for it in plenty of time though, so hopefully I'll do well! What GPC campus do you attend?

Meeep I'm primarily at the Dunwoody campus. I think it was in Oct when we went for the info session. Maybe they have accepted ppl with lower Teas scores. That's based on what I was told when I attended. I know someone who's graduated from the program and someone who's currently in. It's pretty competitive!!

I mainly go to Dunwoody too. :) How was the campus when you visited? I heard previously that it's in a less than desirable area with a lot if car burglaries and such. Wherever I attend, I want to live close to campus, so location is a consideration for sure. I think pretty much any nursing program is going to be competitive. Gives us more motivation to do well at least!
