Georgia Highlands Fall 2013

U.S.A. Georgia

Starting a new thread for any Georgia Highland applicants for the Fall 2013 nursing program. It's been a long road getting to this point - waiting to find out if IN for Fall 2013

I am reading the RNotes Nurses' Clinical pocket review guide. Just trying to get an idea as to what is in store for us! :)

Me too! The more we know (or think we know, ha!) going in the better!!

Does anyone know if they send out the decline letters and acceptance letters at the same time? I've heard that in the past they send out decline letters in May and the acceptance letters in June. I know I have no chance of being accepted, but I haven't received a decline letter either.

Alocke3......How many applicants get accepted to KSU for the Spring semester?

Sure we all could use a little distraction from waiting at this point!

What are some of the things everyone is doing this summer as far as nursing program prep?

Advance reading, math skills brush-up, etc?

I'm working my way through a clinical calculations textbook and select reading of a Nursing Fundamentals textbook (older version I have on hand), plus ordered "Mosby's Tour Guide to Nursing School: A Student's Road to Survival" book.

Please don't get the wrong idea and think this is like an all day/everyday thing...lol...this summer off from school for me is about destressing and relaxing!

I finished training staff at work then took a cruise for a week. Upon return from the cruise I've decided to torture myself by taking 4 summer classes. One word comes to mind......TEQUILLA!!!

@DMK3....you crazy girl!! 4 summer classes (yikes!)...next time you go on a cruise -call me! lol Call me when you're ready for a tequila day :)

btw, I have no clue of the order or timing of acceptance/denial letters;hopefully someone else here will :)

Last year three of my friends applied one got accepted and the other two did not. The one who was accepted got her letter the same day as one of the ones who got denied and the other got her rejection the next day. I have no idea if they send them out the same way every year though. Hope that helps.

I wonder how their letters go as well...If you qualify but do not make the cut, would you be "wait listed" or just sent a regret to inform? Has anyone heard how late letters go out? I was tempted to call and find out what my application worksheet score ended up being and when the letters might be sent out! The waiting is definitely difficult!

also, does anyone know if they will try to correspond through the highlands student email or only via mail?

I asked about a wait list and was told there is not one. She told me that the people who got accepted have so many days to reply and accept their spot or turn it down; if someone doesn't reply or decides not accept then they will contact the person with the next highest scores and offer the spot to them and so on.

Has anyone else heard anything different?

Dmk3- They accepted about 120 students for Spring in total. About 60 of those were traditional and 60 were accelerated :-)

Hoping this is the big week...and we all get good news in our mailboxes :)

Hoping this is the big week as well!! Oh the nerves....and mailbox checking! I am just ready to know something! Best of luck to everyone and prayers for good news!
