First Week at Grady

I feel at home. I walk in everyday with a smile on my face and know I made the right decision for my career. From the physicians to environmental services, everyone is very pleasant and acknowledges each other. I have not had patient care experience on the floor yet, first two weeks is nothing but hard core training. But I am very excited and can't wait. So if anyone is thinking about working at Grady or is not sure, I am here to tell you Grady is a fantastic place to get your feet wet. Great staff, safe environment, advancement opportunities and the list goes on and on. If you have any questions, just shoot me a message or reply to post.

I have recently recieved a call about a position at Gradys telemetry unit. Can you give me an idea of what questions they asked on the interview and anything how i should prepare for the interview. I am thinking of going to speak to the unit director Monday. i dont know how to pm on here just yet. Can you message me

thank you so much for responding. I just realized how awkward this is. I was called from HR. She told me about the position, asked was I still available so on so fort. She said the Floor manager will be looking over my resume and such and I will here back again about an interview. So i kind of want to leave a good impression. Im not sure who i spoke with but i called and got the manegers name and what time to be there to meet her. Or should i just email her

I have been looking for employment and applied to Emory also. I have 1.5 years experience on a cardiac/medsurg unit. Did you know someone at the facility when you applied. should i contact the unit manager

Whatever you feel comfortable doing go for it. The manager is a sweet woman. Did you ever get to interview?

No I did not know anyone. I applied, interviewed, and was offered a position a couple days later. How is the job hunt going?

Hey all!,

What are the residency program hours like, exactly when did you apply for the program, how long did it take them to call after you applied, and how soon did you start after x amount of interviews. I graduate this coming june with my ADN and know that I want perinatal nursing first and critical care second as my choices. I only want perinatal first because I want to spin off (after the mandatory time) and work in the women's health clinic. My goal is to practice holistic women's health; focusing on teaching young women from 13-25 about their reproductive health and how it relates to the body as a whole.

What shift did you have to take because of being in the residency program? I'm ready to come off of nights after graduation and licensure but will stay on them if I have to.
