Emory Residency Program--your experience?

U.S.A. Georgia

Published

I am very interested in pursuing a career with Emory, as I've had some of my clinical experiences there and have really liked it so far. My question is: what is the new graduate residency program like? Were you able to chose what floor and for what shift you wanted to apply for when you applied for the program?

Any pros and cons of the residency program (hours worked vs pay, stuff like that) would be greatly appreciated. I graduate soon and am trying to network as best I can with hospitals in the Atlanta area.

Thanks in advance for your help! :)

Anyone hear anything yet?

Not me! I haven't heard anything .. I'm starting to wonder...

Well here's to waiting!

yea still waiting!

I asked the nurse recruiter about it because I will be going abroad next week for my practicum and he said that the Nursing Administration is still reviewing the questionnaires and he hopes the they will get back to him with who they want to interview in the next couple of weeks.

I thought that perhaps other people would want to know that too.

Thanks so much for sharing!!

Thanks a lot for that info!

Has anyone applied for the Critical Care Nurse Residency for experienced nurses at Emory Saint Joseph's Hospital? I applied and now my status says under consideration. Would really love to know if I will get a call back. I think the residency will start sometime in July.

I just went to check my Emory profile (I applied for the new grad residency and filled out the new grad questionnaire and haven't heard anything back yet) and it didn't recognize my e-mail as being in the system...do you think this means I didn't get the residency??

Hi bamgam9, the same thing happened to me - I was not recognized as being in the system. I hit the FORGOT PASSWORD button, reset my password and was then able to log in. However, I was not able to log in with my username as I had previously been able to do, but had to use my email address. The status still shows "Under Consideration" or something to that effect.

I suggest u call the HR number... I called a few times and they said it's under consideration as well...

Still waiting.... Has anyone emailed the recruiter lately?

daisygirl5 My housemate received a call this week to set up an interview for the John's Creek location - so they are definitely starting to get back to applicants.
