U.S.A. Georgia

So the application for the Fall 2015 BSN traditional/ ABSN/MSN has just opened up. I thought it may be nice to start a thread so any of the applicants can check on each others processes and get to know one another..

Hello,

I attended the informational session on August 12th. I am currently enrolled in Chemistry at GPC (all but the Chemistry prerequisites are done for me). Have you finished all of your requirements? Are you doing the ASBN/MSN, 2nd Degree BSN or the Traditional BSN? I am interested in the Accelerated BSN which is 15 months. Thanks for starting this thread so we could stay in touch.

I attended the information session on the 12th as well and I'm planning on attending the open house October 18th. Sexynurse 79 I'm a second career BSN traditional student and no I have no finished all of my requirements, I have knocked out a good bit of them, but I will be finishing them between now and next spring. I wish they had an option for the traditional to go ahead for their MSN but o well.. Have you started on your application yet. Ive been working on mine for a couple of weeks trying to get the letters of recommendation and the statement of purpose going.... I guess were the only students for the fall 15 class so far lol

Yes I have started my application. Honestly, I'm finished but I feel like something is missing. I'm just nervous at this point. I'm the one who had the baby at the information session. Which one were you? Lol...maybe we are the only ones...lol.

I was the guy in the black polo shirt that was sitting in the back.. I guess you could say mines ready to go as well, all I'm really waiting on is the letter of recommendation from my physical science class which I have yet to take .. Ill probably end up turning it in sometime next month... I mean we have 4 1/2 months to go so fingers crossed.. What specialty are you going for?

The specialty I am interested in is Adult/Gerontology Primary Care Nurse Practitioner. I have my Masters in Health Administration/Gerontology and I just want to continue with that. Speaking with the admission counselor we were also discussing Pediatric Nurse Practitioner Primary Care or Women's Health Nurse Practitioner as options as well. I am finally enrolled into the Chemistry class at GPC. They were holding on to my transcripts and I was getting worried. I went there and it was straighten out within minutes. I am just ready.....ugh!

Now I have a question....did she say you could enroll into the accelerated program without the MSN portion???

I think she said you could, but honestly I don't know. I checked the website and all the information about the accelerated program is bundled with the MSN portion.

How are your classes coming along for the first week? I am very excited!!!! I have my chemistry class along with the lab...my books...classes are paid for...what more could a person ask for. But my number one quest is...GET ACCEPTED INTO EMORY'S NURSING PROGRAM!!!!!!

There going ok, I just started chem as well, I have my A&P this semester and my last math. Im just ready to get it over with.. My main focus has been on this application im still trying to tackle the purpose statement and resume, Ive went through several drafts but nothing firm yet... did you get everything situated to turn in your app

I feel the same way as you...I'm just going to submit the application this weekend. One of my old professors from the Masters program will take a look at it. Now she is the fifth eye who will look at it. I just want to get in. I'm a nervous wreck...seriously. It took so much for me to get into this chemistry class therefore I can not screw up this opportunity. Were you applying to other schools? I over heard other people stating Emory was not their only option.

Im thinking about it, I just have to take the teas, Ive taken it once so I don't see it being a problem. But as of right now Emory is my one and only. I have the grades to get in .. its just going to come down to the admissions stuff like the essay and resume.. Didn't she say not matter how early we turned it in we wouldn't hear anything January?

We wouldn't have the decision until March 1st online. I understand...
