Anyone else applied to Athens Tech for Fall 2013?

I've received my acceptance letter for Athens Tech for 2013.

Awesome news!! Congrats! See you at the meeting in May.

I also received my acceptance letter last Thursday! I was so excited! I applied to Gwinnett Tech and didn't get in there!

Yay! I didn't get in to Gwinnett Tech either. So glad ATC came through for us... That was my last hope!! I'm so excited but super nervous now!

I remember talking to you on the Gwinnett Tech form! I'll see you in May!

Anyone talked to an adviser about the meeting? I want to know everything now! Lol! I want to get this show on the road! Lol

I did talk to my advisor last week. I asked if there was anything I could be doing to benefit me before we actually started (immunizations, BLS cert., etc) and she said to hold off on that till after the meeting. She said they are a bit particular as to where/how to get those done, which they will tell all that at the mtg. She did say however, to go ahead and start on drug/dosage calculations. I found a website http://www.dosgehelp.com which kinda teaches a few formulas. So that's all I'm doing for now, that and brushing up on A&P. hope this helps!

The book Med-Math by Grace Henke is a great book for dose calculations/preparation and administration - not new but excellent nonetheless.

Thanks!! I heard that Understanding Pharmacy Calculations book Is worth getting, so I bought it. Ill check into that book you recommended!!

To the ones that got accepted to Athens, but are declining: when is the deadline to let them know? Or, have you already told them you are declining?

I found out that I am on the alternate list there and the anticipation is killing me! (:

I know that on the acceptance letter it said that if you do not plan to attend their program, to notify the school before may 29 (which is the orientation date) so that they can notify the alternates. So, anytime after May 29th, I would think they would notify others. Hope this helps!

Yes, that does help! The person that sent me the letter said that they could call me up to the second week in August. /:

I am hoping that I don't have to wait too long. If I get in I am pretty sure I am going to be doing a serious ugly cry, I've wanted to be a Nurse since I was 5.

Well, I hope the best for you!! I was on the wait list this year at North Ga and they too said they could notify me as late as August 15th or something. I seriously doubt they would wait that long. I'm following the Gwinnett Tech feed also, and on there (actually maybe on this feed), two people were accepted but said they had to decline the acceptance due to Athens Tech not taking student loans (and I think they got in somewhere else too), so you've still got a chance! Wishing you the best!
