Hello! I am soooo nervous and anxious to get into North Georgia's program!! Last year I was wait listed and I had a 2.79 GPA and a 76.7 teas score. I've already taken a&p, with a's, b's and one c and I took micro, but failed. I'm... Read More

I don't even know where to go from here. I'm in the middle portion. My GPA isn't fantastic and that's what is holding me back. I got a 78 on my teas but I see people who were wait listed last year, in the middle portion and didn't get in. I am completely done with my core classes. I don't know what to do. When does the second batch of letters go out? May? By then, I'll already have registered for classes that I don't need. And my advisor, when I talked to her last semester, built me up that I was good to go and to "look for good news" and now this. They shouldn't be allowed to say things like that.
jessleigh91, try calling TMC (Truett-McConnell College) about their new BSN program in Cleveland, GA. Registration starts every December. Their minimum GPA requirement is 2.50 and they do require the TEAS V. You could give it a shot. :-)

I think it's every December, I'm not so sure now. It's also a private Baptist school with a lot of religion courses to take on top of everything else.

I felt the same way like you. I decided to give Truett McConnell a try. Doing the religion classes was not as bad as they seem. It is just like going to another college and you have to Chemistry 2 which they don't require the additional Psy which they don't require. I had a 74 on ATI and it was accepted. It is a new program and they will be more accommodating that a more established school. I went there and like waht I saw and there and I am in . I did all their religion classes in one semester.

I live in gainesvile, so my options are limited. I'm going to apply to Brenau this spring for next year. We shall see what happens but I don't see any hope in NGCSU.

I was very tempted to apply at TMC, but the tuition held me back. HOPE and other government scholarships don't apply to me where I need to pay out-of-pocket.

It's do or die with UNG this time around! ;-)

They also have an internal scholarship that they give.

Yeah, but I only qualify to a handful of them because of my age (37) and a couple of constraints. But TMC seems like a great place to learn and I love Dr. F! :-)
