Who else is starting first semester nursing in January?

I never thought it would get here and now it's only days away! Who else starts in January? I would love to be able to share our experiences as we all get started. I'm excited to get started but scared to death at the same time. From what I've heard I guess that's pretty typical. Well good luck to everyone...Go Class of '06!!

I was supposed to start the LPN program today, Jan. 5th, but we had an ice storm last night, and classes were cancelled! I was so nervous about going the first day, now I will have to wait till tomorrow - IF we have it.

We are also having bad weather, we have 10 inches of snow here in Lincoln Ne. I see where you got ice first....yuk...I am supposed to start tomorrow, we'll see...good luck to you...

Orientation is mandatory for us. We get measured for our uniforms and what not then so there is no option to skip :)

Orientation is more for the campus and computer system - I took a couple classes there, so don't need the training. I do need to get a few books, etc., but can do that "solo." The woman in charge of orientation was great, tho; said call her when I was on campus if I had any probs and she'd help me out then.

Good luck to you too...We ended up with about an inch of ice. My DH works for the power company as lineman, he left for work yesterday at 5a.m. and got home today at 6p.m.!! Very crazy here right now, so hoping I actually get to start school tomorrow...

I have orientation on the 13th and then I start class the 18th. I am really starting to get nervous. I have been watching the Discovery Health channel for over a year now because I like to watch and also to sort of prepare me. But the last couple of nights I have laid in there watching the nurses on the program wondering...can I really do that? Will I freak out if I see that? Tons of questions and wondering if I am doing the right thing! But I am going to try anyways because I have heard of the jitters so hopefully they will pass!

I start classes 1/18 with clinicals starting 2/5 (I think). Pretty nervous and scared. Still have to get books.

I will be taking:

basic Nursing Procedures with lab and clinical

Health Assessment with lab

10 credit hours total

Hope I am up to the challenge and don't freak out along the way.

I am attending Butler too! I have heard horror stories regarding nursing so any hpe would be appreciated :)

Hi me too starting RN Program 1/10/05 orientation is tonite 1/6 also totally new career change been in Inside Sales for last 10yrs at a good company...good luck to you. :)

I'm starting Jan 10th, an accelerated program. I just got the syllabi, and I'm wondering what the heck am I doing! I knew it was going to be intense, but seeing in writing what we cover....AAAH! NOW I'm nervous!

I'm starting the junior level (actual nursing courses) of a BSN program on January 18, 2004. I was initially on the alternate list for admittance, but I got in!! I'm really excited about my new venture.

I went to orientation last night for RN Program and I am totally overwelmed the syllabis oh my gosh is all in French to me, and it was true what I heard about the instructors at this school in MI they do all act like DRILL SARGENTS :uhoh21:

Not sure how anyone makes it through to be a Nurse :eek:
