I'm graduating in June, and I can't help but start to get excited!

Who will you invite?

I have a huge family and I don't even think I'll have enough tickets for them all!

Specializes in LTC, Rural, OB.

I'm only participating in the pinning and as far as I know there is no limit on the amount of people we can invite, which is good because I have many siblings between me and my husband. I want them all to be there and I think most of them are coming including my nieces and nephew. I'm getting very excited.

Is there a reason you didn't go?

I'm really excited, this will be my first graduation, I didn't finish high school.

I did not go to my graduation either. Nursing school was awful, I did not want to spend any more time there than I had to.

I'm not much of a people person, and therefore, cannot stand events such as graduation ceremonies. To me, the graduation ceremony is designed solely for the comfort and viewing pleasure of the guests, not for the students who actually put in the hard work to walk past that stage.

I'm not the type of person who needs people to clap for me or congratulate me. I don't want or need the validation that a formal graduation ceremony offers.

I was forced to participate in my 8th grade and high school graduation ceremonies because I was living under my parents' roof at the time and basically had to do what they said, but I will never take part in one again.

For pinning we only had a certain amount of seats. My parents, niece, my in laws, uncle and aunt and some friends for church came, Total of 11. My husband and kids were in a different state :( They were unable to come because he's a school teacher and we couldn't afford it and he couldn't take the time off so close to his students finals. They watched the entire thing through Skype though and my niece brought the iPad up on stage when my parents pinned me, so they could be a part of it as well. For graduation, I only went because my group of buddies was going. It was just my niece there.
