What good nursing schools can I get into?

I'm a junior in high school and very worried about whether or not I'll get into a good nursing school, seeing as they're so crazy competitive. My GPA isn't that great; 3.3 weighted and 3.7 unweighted. I've taken mostly all honors or APs during high school and wasn't able to manage them😞.As for SATs, I have 730 math, 670 reading, and 670 writing (super scored). For extracurriculars I have a part-time job, volunteer at a hospital, am a brown belt in karate (in the process of getting my black), volunteer at my karate center, and am part of a sex-ed leadership program at my school (they only pick 20 girls to be in it). I would love to get into Rutgers Nursing as I'm a New Jersey resident and its such an amazing nursing program. I also love UPitt for nursing but I feel like i'm being unrealistic as their program is crazy competitive and I feel that with my GPA my chances are slim. With my grades, scores, and extracuriculars, will I be able to get into these schools? Also, what other schools should i apply to, where I would have a really good chance of getting in?

I'm not really familiar with those schools. You can complete an adn program and then an adn to BSN program you could also apply directly to a BSN program after finishing nursing prereq courses. If you're interested you can check to see if any local community colleges have a transfer agreement or partnership where once you're done with the adn program you can go to a desired 4 year university for your BSN. I could imagine applying directly to a nursing program after hs to be pretty competitive.

Well Rutgers is a popular school. It's known for a "party school" reputation. As such it is a crowded school. Talking about 50-100 students in a general ed or science class typically. The nursing program can plenty afford to be picky, so they are.

There are many good nursing programs in NJ though, with schools that have smaller class sizes, and are more job competitive when they graduate.

While the Rutgers' nursing program IS good, I'm just saying there are others just as good if not better programs that aren't as strict to get into since they aren't as popular. It's nearly impossible to go to Rutgers as any other major, and get into the nursing program after you bring your GPA up more.

I'm not saying it's hopeless. Just in case though, consider some of the other reputable programs in NJ!
