What does IRN mean?

Hi All,

Okay, what does IRN mean?

Drug book says...

Lab tests: frequent PT and IRN with concurrent anticoagulant therapy; more frequent fasting blood glucose levels with diabetes.

I am assuming that PT mean patient... am I right?

pt and I believe that it should be INR, these are clotting values. These are values that are closely followed by patients taking medications such as coumadin(wafarin sodium)

Look them up under labs I think you will find what you are looking for.

my thoughts too. must be misprint that should be INR.

PT is prothrombin time.

INR=International Normalized Ratio, a newer measure of blood clotting time used to determine therapeutic levels of anticoagulation meds such as Coumadin and heparin.
