What do you wear under scrubs?

I'm mostly talking about t-shirts, but if you have underwear recommendations I'm listening LOL I'm scrub-clueless...

Anyway, I'm someone who's ALWAYS hot. I wear a 3x (and shopping for plus-size scrubs is meh), and I'm pretty much always sweating to some degree. I live for A/C in the summer.

That being said, I'm taking a phlebotomy course this summer prior to starting LPN clinicals this fall. I don't know what kind of facility I will be working in, although I do find most hospitals a bit chilly.

How should I layer?

Specializes in Emergency/Cath Lab.

I wear one of my KCCO shirts underneath. It is the lightest most comfortable shirts I own. And I wear gym shorts under my pants. It is a little warmer but after a little mishap, I always have to wear them...

Specializes in CNA, PCT.

anything cotton is very breathable :)

The only thing that I wear under my scrubs is my underwear. I too, get really hot and I do not understand how people can wear t-shirts or tanks under their scrubs.

If you visit a quality store that sells higher end sports equipment, I can tell you that there are t-shirts and tanks that are "cooling" and yes, they do work. They are expensive, but they are worth it.
