Wondering who has done it! Fiance and I getting married March 4- and finals/midterms end the 3rd- med surg 2 will be my clinical rotation. we opted against an August wedding becuase he's a physician, and has the medicine boards in August (he starts his cardiac fellowship in June), neither of us want a wedding around the holidays, and I didn't want to be getting married around the nclex-

just wondering advice! Am starting to think we should have planned it for the 11th, when I would have had spring break the week prior to it- but we want to get away for a few days afterward.

Thx!

Wow! You are going to be busy! :) I wasn't in nursing school when I got married but my husband was in seminary so I do sorta know what you are going through. We got married and a week later he was back at school and I was back to working full time. It was a rough first year for us but we made it through. I don't have much advice except to make time for each other and stay connected. Marriage is hard work. It is also very, VERY rewarding. The best of luck to both of you.

One of my classmates got married over the Christmas break in December. They'd been planning for months. Another is getting married this summer.

If I had it to do all over again, I'd run off - just me and my honey - and get married somewhere barefoot in the sand! :)

Good luck! :)

I graduated in June 2004 and got married July 2004... I started planning in January 2004. I must say... towards the end of school, as it got closer to the wedding I found myself daydreaming alot about the wedding instead of concentrating on my studies!! :smackingf I am happy to say I passed my NCLEX!! So... it can be done! Best of luck to you and congrats!! :D

How on EARTH did you concentrate on the NCLEX???? That was the reason we opted for March....he doesn't have boards, I don't have boards, etc! We were going to take a "real" honeymoon Oct/Nov of '06, but I am sooo maternal, it's not even funny....so we're thinking of honeymooning right after graduation, come back, take a NCLEX class, then take the test. Who knows though....

Am SO glad school is almost done for the semester, it's not even funny....now I can concentrate, for a few weeks, on the wedding itsself before I start an externship!

My 'fiencee' and I use that term loosely as I have no ring (we are sooo poor) but the plans are in the making..weve been together for 2 years and Ive always wanted a big wedding...lately after being so busy with nursing school and just life in general, the more appealing a wedding in Vegas is sounding...LOL..

anyway...GOOD LUCK and congrats

A couple of my classmates are doing Vegas weddings this summer.....it does sound appealing, but our Catholic families would roll over if we did that! Hence, the Catholic wedding....and hopefully not "big!"

I graduate May 13th and am getting married June 3rd. All my family is coming from out of town so it has been really stressful. If I had it to do over again, I think I would elope! I have spent so much time and effort on the wedding that I feel like I have almost lost the whole purpose of the wedding. Anyway, I think no matter when you get married it is going to be stressful, but probably better to get it over with and not have to be planning and stressing any longer than you have to! We were engaged for a year and a half so I had way too much time to think about everything and obsess.

Congratulations on your engagement and I hope your wedding is perfect and not too stressful. :balloons:

Congrats! Yeah, my family, except for my immediate amily, is all out of town-I'm in the midwest, and everyone else is along the eastern seaboard or the Rockies or Ireland....2/3 of my friends are out of town too....so my med-surg final had better not be the day of the rehearsal dinner! I only have 2 finals that week, so it SHOULD be alright- but would be worlds better if med-surg were, say, Tuesday instead of Friday! We will have been engaged 11 mo. at that point....all I've done is planned the church and reception site....got a lot more to do this summer!

Good luck- and have fun! One of my friends who was recently married said to try and meditate or calm your mind at least during the reception, as it flies by.
