Was it hard to take Pharm and Patho together?

Hello

I'm preparing for next semester. I can take both Pharm and Patho and wondering if this is a good idea. I can only defer Patho till the Summer. I don't like that option due to cost.

Please share your opinion :-)

Not at all. However, it depends on your learning style.. I was able to do both at the same time. The only advice I can offer is that you must organize your time, focus on only the important things. I am unsure how your pharm class in structured. Is it general or is it nursing focused care and pharm?

Yes and no.. I took both classes together for a 2nd half summer session - in 6 weeks! so THAT was really rough more so because of the timeline.. however they do go hand in hand and I know my school made the point to match up the topics so that while we were learning the cardiac patho we were also getting the cardiac pharm which helped put the whole picture together and I feel like the classes together really reinforced one another.

you can do it if you are self-disciplined and do not get behind in either course. Seek assistance if needed.

Our classes have been:

Pathophysiology & Pharmacology

Pharmacology

Advanced Pathophysiology & Pharmacology

So, we've had to take 3 pharm classes. :(

But, taking them together should be no problem, IMHO. Because you learn about a disease or disorder and the treatment for that disease/disorder. Easy peasy. :-)

They are one class at my school. It's not that bad.

I took them together in the summer session and worked full time. It's doable.
