If you use a voice recorder, which model do you have? I am planning on getting one for fall when I start the nursing program.

Thanks!

I don't have one but I'd love to get some suggestions as well!

I have one it is an RCA. I use it for every class. It has helped a lot. Other classmates that I have have used other recorders and even their iphone.

I had one..I think it was an RCA. It has a USB drive on it so you can pop it into the computer to download the recording. We weren't allowed to use them in school, so my husband gained possession of it.

I picked up the Olympus VN-8100PC a couple years ago on sale, and I've been very happy with it. It has plenty of on board memory (2 GB) to save files. I have 16 weeks worth of 3-hour lectures currently saved on it with plenty of room still to spare. I can also connect it to my computer via USB for easy downloading of the recording files. The recordings have been clear. Battery life (2-AAA) is pretty good -- I can usually make it through a semester on one pair of batteries. It's been one of my best school purchases!

We aren't allowed to use voice recorders in classes in our nursing program, either. Too bad, because I think it would be helpful to me! But they said something about HIPAA violations due to the things we discuss in class.

I have an Olympus WS-300M and I like it a lot. It holds a lot and connects to a USB port for easy transfer to my computer. It also has really nice playback just from the recorder itself. It's a few years old, so this particular model might not be out there now, but I'd definitely get Olympus again.

If you have microsoft OneNote, you can import powerpoints, take notes, & record audio or video with the same program. It's preloaded on many Windows computers as part of Office.

iphone has a voice memos app that works pretty well!!
