The "Wait"

Nursing Students General Students

There is nothing worse than the 2 month wait period between submitting your application into the nursing school and getting an answer as to whether you were accepted or not.

Must... Relax....

I turned in my application last Thursday.

Phone calls go out end of October.

Luckily I still have classes to take so I'm occupied. Plus kids, dogs, husband, etc.

It is awful! You check your email or your mailbox every day.. hoping.. praying...pleading....waiting.....harassing the mailman.......

Ugh I can't imagine waiting for a letter in the mail. At least I know around when I'll be getting notified.

They only give you one call though. If your voicemail picks up they leave a message. No voicemail/wrong number? On to the next. Don't sign your acceptance letter by the due date? On to the next.

A phone call would be heaven. For us you aren't sure what day they are sending out letters, except typically it is later than they told you it would be. You have only so many days to call back and confirm your intention to attend the program or they move on to the next. Then you have to come in and sign a paper saying you are intending on attending or they move on. It's very stressful, and you better hope there is no delay with your mail because they seriously only give you a week to notify them or you are out.. :nailbiting:

ours came via snail mail, no phone, no email. and I agree, pray the mailman didn't put your envelope in another person's box and that person couldn't care to return it to the post office. Then you had 1 week to respond. Then the next month to do all the physicals, background check, insurance verification. then you had to go to orientation. there were people who were supposed to be in my class who missed orientation and didn't get a second shot. they had to re-do everything and re-apply cause their spot was given to someone else.

Oh gosh I am in that situation right now! The application deadline was July 31st, and I have no idea when we will find out. My school's website said we would be notified by a letter in the mail, but didn't say anything else. I hope they also send an email (or at least call), since snail mail can be unreliable. Good luck to everyone waiting!
