0Mar 9, '08 by labrador4122Hi, I am a new RN from FL.
I passed boards last october, and now i am working at a pediatric hospital in a surgical floor. i love it there.
I graduated from broward community college. I am so thankful that they gave me the opportunity to attend the prestigious nursing program there.
0Mar 9, '08 by missninaRNI grew up in Southern California, but now live in a medium sized Midwestern city.
Married to my dream man, mother of two (one in college, one pursuing a career in NY City).
I'm 45 years old. I'll graduate this Spring with an ADN and will start working on a med/surg floor after taking a couple of weeks off for a long-awaited trip to a resort with my hub.
I plan on beginning work on the BSN after a couple of semester off. (I feel like I need a break from school while I'm learning how to be a nurse.) Then, I'll start by taking the remaining pre-reqs locally before doing an RN-BSN online through a state university. I hope to have the BSN by my 50th birthday, at which point I'll make my decision on whether or not to pursue the MSN. I'm hoping that, by then, I will have found my niche in nursing and will know whether I need an advanced degree.
Several of my instructors tell me that they see me in education eventually. I tend to agree, but feel that I need a solid foundation in nursing first, which is why I'm starting out in med/surg.
I'm also somewhat interested in ICU, outpatient surgery, hospice, and wound care.Last edit by missninaRN on Mar 9, '08

0Mar 9, '08 by luvleeeI am a 23 year old Junior Nursing student at Georgia Baptist College of Nursing - Mercer University, who is graduating in December 2008. I went to the University of Georgia for my first three years of undergrad (will always be a Bulldog). I transferred to Georgia Baptist in Fall 06. I am a Piedmont Hospital Scholar, which means I will plan to spend my first two years as a Registered Nurse at Piedmont Hospital (hopefully in the ICU). I eventually would be CCRN, get my Masters or PhD in behavior sciences or psychology, and ultimately teach at my Alma Mater (Georgia Baptist).
My interests are cardiac, neuro, and psych.
