Switching from Kaplan to ATI, help!?!?

I am in an ABSN program and our program utilized the Kaplan program for testing. At the end of each class we would take a standardized test and have to remediate on it. We have about 5% of our grade that is from this and depends on our score against the national score. Anyways, we are half way through our program and they told us that they are switching us over to ATI and that Kaplan and all that hard work we did all not be available to us this spring when we take our NCLEX.

Has anyone used the ATI program? Thoughts? Our nursing department said they are excited because they think it will be better for us. I am nervous because now I will have to do all the content I did with Kaplan on ATI and it will be all on my own time.

Any advice? How have you like ATI or bad things about it? Thanks!

When I was in school I could not stand ATI. Everyone in our class complained about it. We all felt that ATI made us feel incompetent. Fast forward to NCLEX time...I used ATI like crazy to answer and practice questions. I also found the books to be very helpful in studying my weak areas.

Long story short, while I found ATI less than desirable during school, I believe it all paid off in the end. I paired ATI with many other valuable sources, but, I do feel that it was beneficial.

The NCLEX Review course they provided at the end of our program was a very positive experience as well. HOpe this helps. Let me know if you have any further/specific questions that I might answer.

Thank you! I did a search for ATI vs Kaplan and couldn't find anything recent (like 2011 was the earliest). I found Kaplan to be a pain in the orifice. It was horrible. I am glad they are changing it, but at the same time nervous about the content and the differences. Everyone complains about Kaplan too, so I don't think that will go away. I guess I am more curious if anyone else's program has switched them in the middle of a program like that.
