Summer class advice

Hey, so I need some advice asap. I am applying for the RN program this fall...I only need microbiology and chemistry II to complete before I am able to get in. So that leaves me having to take these two classes together over the summer (8 weeks). I have been back & forth debating on should I or should I just wait, but if I do not get in this fall I will have to wait another year just to apply. Also I will have no classes left to complete so I will be doing practically nothing because I do not work at the moment.. Any advice???

I can't tell if you're actually "in" from what you wrote. Is it guaranteed entry just for applying? If it's competitive, you might not want to blow your sciences. I wouldn't take those classes together over the summer. Some people could handle it just fine, but from the doubts you're expressing, it doesn't seem like you're one of them.

I've already applied to the program & was accepted under something known as "provisional acceptance", meaning I am accepted, but I must take & pass these two classes over the summer.

You are right there are ppl that could do it, and I believe I can I just know it will be very challenging. It's nothing I feel I can't do because if I decide to I am going to work hard & dedicate most of my time to each class.

If you only have to pass, it might not be a bad idea. I find myself wondering what kind of school this is, though ...and how expensive they are if they'll take you without considering your grades for those classes.

Well I am a student with a very good grade point average, I did well in all my other sciences (A&P I & II, Chem I, etc) so I guess that's why it's call "provisional acceptance." It all depends on these 2 classes before I will be fully accepted into the program.

Take the two classes over the summer. Will it be challenging? Yes. Can you get it done? Also, yes.

You seem smart and capable. Go for it.

Normally, I would tell you to NOT take these classes together in 1 summer semester. BUT, since your completion of these classes depends on whether you would be able to start in the Fall, I say absolutely take them. You just have to be prepared to have no life for the next 8 weeks.

Thanks for commenting! I decided to do it & I'm so glad I did! I did very well in these courses. Yes they were challenging & my summer was very hectic with the 2 courses & other things.
