Should I join my schools chapter of the Student Nurses Association? I'm feeling lazy today and don't really want to drive over to the meeting. If anyone knows what SNA is all about let me know!

:) Not sure if I am too late to reply to this. I joined my SNO (Student Nurse Organization). Honestly, haven't reaped any benefits yet, except that when I graduate get the pics free. But, we are just required to attend 3 meetins, and volunteer in 1 fund raiser type ordeal. So as yet, haven't seen any benefit to it, but I just finished my first quarter, so who knows whats in store. :)

I serve as the Public Relations rep for my school's SNA, and besides being a great way to let off some steam and hang out with other people in school, being a member looks **GREAT** on a resume. I know of several people who have had bosses take a second look at them once they said they were members. It's at least worth a shot....every school is different.

I joined our SNA and loving it so far. Classes and meetings just started back last week, but we've already met our mentors (through the SNA program) and been given little back to school gifts by them. They also sponsored a picnic lunch for our first meeting.
It's not that pricey, and I would definately encourage anyone to join that is able to. I'm sure there are other benefits to membership that I haven't yet heard about. :)

I just started nursing school but I am going to join. I want to go on to get my masters, and that will look good on the application (remember that part about "organizations" on applications?) Sg
