Stethoscopes- Where to buy???

It's been a while since I posted last. I have been shopping on the internet for Stethoscopes and other nursing supplies.

I've notices that http://www.jackmarcus.com is a inexpensive place to purchase uniforms. Has any one bought from them and what did you think about them??? Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

As far as stethoscopes I plan to purchase a Littmann ClassicII and found that http://www.allheart.com has them priced at $56.99 (add tax and shipping for CA) and http://www.jascouniforms.com has them priced at $64.99 (plus shipping). Both are good buys but my question is what company is better to deal with. Or does any one else have any suggestions where to purchase???

Your input would be greatly appreciated. I'm going to have to purchase real soon as I start school in mid Feb.

Have you already oriented to your school? They might have specific guidelines for purchasing your stuff... just wanted to be sure.

I haven't ordered from either of those companies, but I've heard other people say good things about allheart.

Call a Littman representative and see where they will be having a set up. At our local college/universitity they have a set up and they sell all sorts of things to the students in nursing, paramedic and fire fighter programs. Usually cheaper since they are selling so many at one time.

If your in a program, call a rep and set something up like this for the program. Perhaps you can use it as an assignment for clinical or something.

Littman's are good stethascopes. If you plan on going into the field where you really need to hear heart tones well-ICU, PCU, etc, the Littman Cardiology II I would highly recommend.

I have bought things from both Allheart and Jasco. Both orders were fine, only the Allheart order took a week and a half to arrive. The Jasco order came right away. I would go with whatever company is cheaper, as long as you are not in big hurry.

I love allheart.com. My order always arrives within a week of my order. I have found great prices there and I love their 30 day walk and wear guarantee...I had to return a pair of shoes due to them being uncomfortable after I wore them for about 2 weeks. There was complete ease in returning them and I got another style within a week. My steth arrived 4 days after ordering it and that was with it being engraved. I have no complaints with allheart.com and will continue giving them my business!
